Christmas in Kampala

Most Christmas films depict Jews and Whites but this Ugandan film breaks that tradition. "Christmas in Kampala" is a dramatisation of the birth of JESUS Christ retold in present day Kampala City (Uganda). The cast consists of mainly NTV programming staff such as Jim Park of Kakkibe Ki, Shiraz Nargis of Better Living, Patrick Masa, Patrick Idringi and Cotilda of Mic Check, Chloe Kemigisha, William Mayombwe, Stanley Nyanzi, Charles Setimba, Kenneth Mulalu and many others. The cast is also beefed up by other well-known personalities such as Rabadaba (Muslim musician), Moses Golola (Ugandan kickboxing legend who plays the role of a very sporty King Herod) and Bob Ejike. Directed by Stephen Nyeko, a senior producer at NTV, the main gist of the film is that: What would it be like if JESUS was born in Kampala instead of Bethlehem? Language and humour are added to the dialogue to make it locally relevant. NTV aired the adaptation on Friday 24th to Sunday 26th December 2010 (Christmas holiday).
