Leak Proof Mission (short film)
Leak
Proof Mission is
a 2018 Ugandan short film based on the 2012 Uganda People's Defence Air Force
(UPDAF) chopper crashes in Kenya en route to war-torn Somalia for an AMISOM
mission. Directed by Josh Timothy Waiswa, the 10 minute-long screen production
focusses on a few events surrounding the accident and the actual warning given
by Prophet Elvis Mbonye during a Zoe Fellowship on Tuesday 7th August 2012.
According to Breaking News reports from dramatised TV clips, Ugandan Airforce
Commander General Mabior de Mabior (role played by Jalum John) calls the
mission "salvation" for the people of Somalia. However, Jeff - his
"ear and eye on the ground" warns him about "The Prophet"
who phoned and told him that he foresaw doom for the flight planned to leave
Soroti for Eldoret on a Sunday plus refuel in Nanyuki before touching down in
the Mog. Jeff (role played by Fidel Sankara) adds that from a background check,
this "accurate" prophet also predicted the 2004 Tsunami and the 2010
Kyadondo Rugby Ground World Cup Bombings that all came to pass. The mission
could not be abandoned "because of a serious order from above".
Captain Lucas, the Lead Pilot of the Mogadishu mission physically confronts
Jeff in the corridor after the meeting with the general but later dies in the
Mt. Kenya thicket accident despite his wife's prayers. Ugandan rapper Ruyonga
acts as the Priest who reads the eulogy at the captain's funeral. NTV Uganda
premiered the short film on 18th April 2018 and many followers of the mystic
Elvis Mbonye liked it as expressed on social media especially facebook. The
announcer at the end of the video refers to the accident as a bombing but it
was apparently not caused by any human effort...
