Ugandan Flicks (Ugaflix)
This Film Review Park was opened during the Era of Natasha's Father to celebrate the Cinema of Uganda. As a Dreamer, Cartoonist and Wikipedia Guest Editor (since 2012), I believe every Flick has a watchable Story to tell; am not a Tomatometer Critic but an O(m)bangulu/ Luwombo (Mix) Film Fan because I respect every Filmmaker's unique Vision. Mira Nair's Maisha Film Laboratory taught me that "If we don't tell our Stories, noone else will." Contact: aikoug@gmail.com! Lights, Camera, Action...

The Office (Ugandan TV series)
Christmas in Kampala
Most Christmas films depict Jews and Whites but this Ugandan film breaks that tradition. "Christmas in Kampala" is a dramatisation of the birth of JESUS Christ retold in present day Kampala City (Uganda). The cast consists of mainly NTV programming staff such as Jim Park of Kakkibe Ki, Shiraz Nargis of Better Living, Patrick Masa, Patrick Idringi and Cotilda of Mic Check, Chloe Kemigisha, William Mayombwe, Stanley Nyanzi, Charles Setimba, Kenneth Mulalu and many others. The cast is also beefed up by other well-known personalities such as Rabadaba (Muslim musician), Moses Golola (Ugandan kickboxing legend who plays the role of a very sporty King Herod) and Bob Ejike. Directed by Stephen Nyeko, a senior producer at NTV, the main gist of the film is that: What would it be like if JESUS was born in Kampala instead of Bethlehem? Language and humour are added to the dialogue to make it locally relevant. NTV aired the adaptation on Friday 24th to Sunday 26th December 2010 (Christmas holiday).

The Heart Of An Evil Woman
Jeska is a stubborn woman who spends most of her time fighting and quarrelling with the people in the village. She always wishes bad luck for others and does not want people to prosper. She pays visits to witchdoctors shrines to solve her problems. She transforms herself into a dragon and appears in front of an elder to scare him away. She worships the Devil and never believes in the true GOD. She goes to a shrine and casts madness on a lady who just graduated from the University. Topista is attacked by Jeska's evil powers. She starts behaving strangely attracting her mother's attention. Her mother is totally confused about her daughter's behaviour; Topista mysteriously runs mad. Whoever opposes Jeska never goes free. A young man who lost his father a month ago is negotiating the price of their only family land with a politician. A village drunkard who was passing by finds the politician and the young man finalising the price of the land. He tries to stop them but is beaten badly.
Jeska receives news that a very rich man wants to marry the neighbour's daughter. She feels jealous and bewitches the young lady a few days to the marriage function in order to ruin their marriage. Jeska visits the shrine to punish a young boy who harassed her daughter. Jeska's pig destroys plants in Joyce's farm. Instead of compensating Joyce, she beats her until Joyce loses teeth. The elders organise a meeting to make Jeska pay for her offences but Jeska denies all allegations against her. Joyce's husband passes on because of stress; Jeska falsely accuses him of practising witchcraft.
Produced by Fireworks Films (Arua) in association with Horizon Movie Industry, this Lugbara movie was directed by Jim Kartel and Ivan Osutaa, also known as Toniel Banks (Super Director).
